SUMMARY:TAKE ON THE HARD QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALTHCARE AND SHARE YOUR STORY ON APRIL 25TH
DESCRIPTION:The Thurston – Lewis – Mason Central Labor Council is partnering with Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility\, Whole Washington\, PNHP Washington and other groups to present a Healthcare Not Warfare Town Hall at The Olympia Center (222 Columbia St. NW\, Olympia WA 98501) on April 25th at 5:30 PM. \nIn a country that spends $877 billion on the military\, should medical debt be the leading cause of bankruptcy? Working people in our community are urged to join this non-partisan\, educational event to take on the hard questions about America’s healthcare system and share their healthcare stories with the organizers and attendees. \nHealthcare in the United States has the highest costs in the world\, leaving over 40 million workers (including the recently unemployed) unable to get the care they need due to unaffordable deductibles and copays. Half a million people are pushed into bankruptcy each year due to medical bills\, even though most of them were insured when they became sick or injured. \nEveryone has a story\, and we want to hear yours. \nFor more information on the event please visit http://www.tlmlabor.org or contact Thurston – Lewis – Mason Central Labor Council Treasurer Rachelle Martin at treasurer@tlmlabor.org / (360) 261-2090.
