Live Telephone Town Hall on COVID
November 10, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Free
The possibility of a winter wave of COVID-19 fueled by new virus subvariants has rekindled concerns for many Americans as they prepare for the holiday season. While increasing vaccination rates give us some comfort, we know that vaccine protection erodes over time and some 100 million Americans who are eligible for booster shots haven’t gotten them. Uptake of the new bivalent COVID-19 booster has been slower than expected.
Even though COVID has been with us for a long-time, questions always arise. How is this booster different than those in the past? Do I really need a booster? What steps can my family take to stay safe over the holiday season? And, more.
To help Washingtonians get the answers they need, AARP is hosting a telephone town hall on Thursday, November 10 with Dr. Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett, Chief Science Officer with Washington’s Department of Health, and Ingrid Ulrey, Regional Director, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Region 10. This live Q&A event will give listeners an opportunity to get the latest information, plus ask their own questions of our panelists.
The conversation begins at 9:45am (PT), on November 10, 2022. Participants can register in advance at https://vekeo.com/aarpwashington/, or call in toll-free on the day of the event at 855-962-1240.
The call will also be live streamed on the AARP Washington Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AARPWA. The event is free and open to the public. You do not need to be an AARP member to participate.
